FAQ: How do I enable notification email?
|
Posted by on Wednesday July 28, 08:25PM, 1999
from the toys-r-picky-about-their-friends dept.
I have been looking around a long time for something like Zope/Squishdot.
Now all I need are some minor tweaks.
Err: 1st get it going.
It simply won't send email!
I have:
- a mailhost installed
- allowed Owner to use mailhost service
- allowed me to change proxy roles for
mail_html
- attempt to set owner-proxy-role at
mail_html
- seen that
Forbidden
You are not authorized to change mail_html because you do not have proxy roles.
Whatever I do - it refuses to send me mail. Am I the only one stupid enough to be caught in whatever trap it was?

If you mean you (i.e. the administrator) cannot set the proxy role for the mail_html file, then this may simply be a problem with your id's roles?
I would suggest just testing out the mailhost product on its own and build a simple form that allowed anonymous users to email some test data before trying this out with Squishdot -- this way you can isolate your problems -- either the problem is with your mailhost setup or mailhost permissions or the problem is with Squishdot setup or Squishdot permissions.
OTOH, You were unable to send any email even though you believe its already set up correctly with all the permissions necessary, then we need to _*talk*_ more... Squishdot has a to talk about bugs and other stuff and you can also send me and I will try to respond to your problems.
Update: if you wish to subscribe to the mailing list you can visit the Squishdot home page or send an email to
the with a "subscribe" on the subject line -- Butch
At this point in time, this website is just a demo site and is not really ready to receive visitors -- I'm just answering stuff because I happened to be online with some free time...
