Pull Down Menu for Your Name Field
How-To Posted by bryan on Monday July 29, 11:00PM, 2002
from the bumping my head against the wall dept.
I need some help figuring out how to verify the Name of a poster when they post an article in Squishdot

Here is what I want. When you go to post and article it would be wonderful if the "Your Name" field had a pull-down list of the current users of this site. If this isn't possible could you have this field be locked in based upon who you logged in as?

Not sure if this makes sense but please let me know if you have any insight

Thanks

    I default to the current user on my addPostingForm. Here is my field:

    <INPUT TYPE="TEXT" NAME="author" VALUE="<dtml-var AUTHENTICATED_USER>" SIZE=50>

    For a selection list I would use this:

    <SELECT name="author">
    <OPTION VALUE="" SELECTED>&nbsp;
    <dtml-in "acl_users.getUserNames()">
    <OPTION VALUE="<dtml-var sequence-item>"><dtml-var sequence-item>
    </dtml-in status_result>
    </SELECT>
