How To Link Articles to Book Titles on Amazon
How-To Posted by on Friday June 29, 04:19PM, 2001
from the Mac-Don't-Fly-So-High dept.
OK, here is the challenge: Some authors of articles on my website have actually written books on their subject. I would like to implement a form feature whereby I could provide book ordering links/ recommendations when posting an article.

This could also get very interesting when you want to earn some extra bugs by linking all your articles to relevant books on Amazon (or alternatively, publishing book excerpts with your Squishdot site with links to order the complete book).

For my purpose, I know I will get a lot more qualified authors posting articles on my site because they can thereby promote their books.

Has anyone ever tried this here... please let me know! I searched through all past articles on Squishdot and couldn't find anything on this or similar scenarios.

We hacked this by using the dept field to store the ISBN for each book. Then it was trivial to display the book cover on the article that had the book review. You can check out an article like that here
