index_html grouping of listed articles by date

grouping-by-day function for index_html required

Hi there everyone,
i want to group the "lead summary"-list of the articles on the index_html page like this:

saturday, april 21
-----------------------
11:34 [Here goes Title+Summary 1]

friday, april 20
-----------------------
21:20 [Here goes Title+Summary 2]
08:31 [Here goes Title+Summary 3]

(blahblahblah...)

i guess, i have to get the day from "date_posted" then store that somehow and compare for each posting in the loop -- but i'm new to dtml and don't know how to do that... anyone help me out with this...?

You'd probably be better off learning about ZCatalog searches ;-)

Look here as Squishdot behaves a lot like a ZCatalog.
