Frank,
I dont know if you can backup *only* the articles in Squishdot. But you can backup the entire system by copying to Data.fs file. You can copy it while the system is running - no need to take the system down, kinda cool. Also if you go to the directory above where squishdot is installed, you can check the Squishdot folder click Import/Export and Export it to your local system (or to the server) and I would believe that would backup the Squishdot.
hth,

I had this question asked to me by someone and I couldn't reply well BUT the problem was quite the same,
Question:
- Backing up the squishdot postings from an external site to local disk using the "Export" function...
Problem:
- After the back-up, only the preview-postings appear but not the articles and its replies (ie when click "more..." under an article, nothing appears!
Background to the problem:
- Re-locating a squishdot site from an external site (or just a plain back up of it!)
Any comments?
thanks

a related question: I have a local version and a web version squishdot. They tend to be synchronized. If I post some articles on local version, then I want to upload these new articles to the web version, what is the best way to do it? Do I have to export/import root folder every time? What if some hosting services do not provide import services due to security reason? Thank you! |
