Sending Email notification after moderation
|
Posted by on Tuesday May 03, 12:03PM, 2005
from the dept.
Does anyone have any ideas about how to get the email notification to be sent _after_ a message has been approved? Ideally this would be configurable so the site admin could decide whether notification was sent when the reply was posted or when the reply was approved. Any ideas?
Cheers,
Tom.

Well, this is just a plain feature requirement, sadly, I'm unlikely to have time to even think about implementing it unless I can get to it as paid work :-S

I also need this function.
In Lithuania we need some functions that squishdot don't have. And I think, that we will release new news publishing system, because squishdot author don't like patches (see http://groups.yahoo.com/group/squishdot/message/2608).
If you don't have time for OpenSource, then other people must develop your project or your project will die!

I'd suggest people actually read that mail you link to, maybe they can explain it to you ;-)
The reasons I don't like your patches:
1. They're the wrong solution to the problem. You want Squishdot in ONE other language, not many languages, so using an i18n/l10n framework is the WRONG way to go about it.
2. Your patches are untested and I have no idea who you are or what the quality of your code is like.
3. You didn't discuss these patches or there motives on any forum or mailing list. You made one or two posts and then did a rogue "release" of Squishot because you didn't like what I had to say.
I am MORE than happy to accept decent patches for Squishdot, but if people present shit, I will turn it away. I have no desire to develop another Plone ;-)
Feel free to release your own news publishing system, but if you use any Squishdot code without proper attribution, or use the Squishdot name as part of your product name, I'll sue your ass...
