errata in upgrading instructions?
Newbies Posted by fabio vitale on Tuesday May 22, 07:31AM, 2001
from the dept.

I'm upgraded from 1.1.0 to 1.2.1 following the instructions in the readme file of squishdot 1.2.1.

All was fine except the following instructions:

All was fine except the following instructions:

  • In the previewPosting method, change all occurences of "validateComment(REQUEST=REQUEST)" to validateComment (NB: no quotes)
  • In the previewPosting method, change all occurences of "validateArticle(REQUEST=REQUEST)" to validateArticle (NB: no quotes)

in my PreviewPosting method I have only one occourrence each as follow:

"validateComment(this(), REQUEST=REQUEST)"
.
.
.
"validateArticle(this(), REQUEST=REQUEST)"

so I cannot make the changes you have outlined. Some illumination?

    The following instructions are strange. validateArticle (NB: no quotes) and validateArticle (NB: no quotes) are not really Python like ?

    In the previewPosting method, change all occurences of "validateComment(this(),REQUEST=REQUEST)"
    to validateComment (NB: no quotes)

    In the previewPosting method, change all occurences of "validateArticle(this(),REQUEST=REQUEST)"
    to validateArticle (NB: no quotes)

      It means replace ti with just validateArticle.

      ...and make sure there aren't any quotes around validateArticle.

      Does that make sense now? ;-)
