from the brain-fart dept.
I was doing a little research on creating a way to display all the older artcles that have fallen off the main page and found this:
http://squishdot.org/948424758/index_html
But I ran into a little problem...

My problem is that I can't figure out where to add that "dtml-var id" to the url string to make the links work properly. If someone would be so kind to point out my error (or if you have a better way of displaying older articles), it would be greatly appreciated.

    Try:

    <ul>
       <dtml-in postingValues>
          <li><a href="&dtml-absolute_url;"><dtml-var title></a>
       </dtml-in>
    <ul>

    Butch missed out a semi-colon ;-)

    However, there are probably better ways to do this now. Add a date index to your Squishdot site, and use a ZCatalog query (Squishdot Sites are ZCatalogs) to build your page.

    cheers,

    Chris

      Just for the benefit of those who don't know (i.e. me)--how does one add a date index to the Squishdot site? Poke around in "manage_catalogIndexes" under the squishdot site (i.e. "http://server/squish/manage_catalogIndexes ?)

        I've just been creating a dtml document in the root folder of the squishdot site with the appropriate code. For example, I have a document called "all_articles" that when you visit the address:

        http://www.renditionrevival.com/Zope/rendition/all_articles

        you get the results. My example is actually using a combo of a dtml doc and dtml method, but that's another story. Does that help at all?
