Squishdot 0.7.3-, TinyTables and Zope 2.3.0+ are NOT compatible!
Squishdot Posted by Chris Withers on Wednesday February 28, 09:58AM, 2001
from the getting-fed-up-with-answering-the-same-questions dept.
The subject says it all. If you want Squishdot and Zope 2.3 to play nicely together, don't install TinyTables. If you want more details, read on...

Basically, there's a bug in TinyTables that means Squishdot can't use it in versions of Zope later than 2.3.0.

I have worked around this, and they will play nicely together in the next version of Squishdot (coming soon, I promise... well, okay, hope ;-) but you can check it out of the CVS any time you want :-)

cheers,

Chris

Does 2.3.0+ include 2.3.0? I'm running 2.3.0, Squishdot, and TinyTables without any problems. My site was upgraded from an earlier Zope version.

The problem is not _running_ this combination together, you just won't be able to _create_ any new sites ;-)

      cheers,

      Chris

you can't create new sites with fancy demo, the plain demo works fine

Does checking it out from CVS solve the problem of _creating_ a squish on Z2.3.0+?

And what is a fancy demo and a plain demo? I am basically desperate to create a Squishdot site on Z 2.3.0

Yes, the CVS version will let you create Squish sites on Zoep 2.3.0 usign either TinyTable or TinyTablePlus.

As for the plain and fancy demos, when you get to the 'add form' it should be obvious ;-)

      cheers,

      Chris

Just to confirm; this is still a bug. Thanks for posting the notice here (and saving me from pulling my hair out.)

Looking into TinyTables a bit; it appears that the project is somewhat, well, frozen.

Is there active TinyTable development going on right now? Is the TinyTable maintainer going to release a fixed version?

Does anyone know of a fixed version out there?

With the old version of Zope, things are running cool, by the way. Thanks to the SquishDot team for an EXCELLENT project!!!

You don't read to good, huh? ;-)

I did say that I've fixed the problem from Squishdot's end. The 'bug' is fixed in CVS, so nothing needs to be modified in TinyTables, I just haven't had time to do a Squishdot release recently, but that doesn't stop you from going to SourceForge and getting hold of it.

      cheers,

      Chris

Just wanted to say thanks for

    a) Squishdot itself.

    b) Spotting and fixing this bug, which I just came across as I was trying to get Squishdot up and running.

    c) Having this discussion site here for support, from which I learnt that the bug had been fixed.

    d) Having the fixed version in CVS and instructions on how to use it.

    Nice one!
