Posting without hitting Submit?
Squishdot Posted by Carl Vinka on Sunday July 27, 01:52AM, 2003
from the dept.
Trying to build a way to post to squishdot site thru submiting the info on the address line of the browser, or just calling a method.

I've been searching for a way to post without using the form that must take user action. I'm looking for a way to auto post information from a zsql query, or by supplying the full text in the address URL.

Can anyone point me in the right direction?

    Adding Postings...

Through the address line is easy, just view the source of the Add Posting Form and build a query string of the input names you file there:

    http://example.com/my_squish/addPosting?title=hello&body=test

    (etc)

For the ZSQL query, just have a python script process the results of the ZSQL call and call the addPosting method your Squishdot site.

If you run into problems, post back and I'll see if I can help...
