from the dept.
Im using zope-2.6.1 and installed the latest version of Squishdot. Everytime I try to post to a plain vanilla version of the Squishdot site I get an "Unauthorized" error.

Im using zope-2.6.1 and installed the latest version of Squishdot. Everytime I try to post to a plain vanilla version of the Squishdot site I get an "Unauthorized" error. I was also prompted for a password when I would try to access the addPostingForm. I tried to alleviate it by setting the proxy to Anonymous, but it didn't work, so instead I removed the "suggest_author" and "suggest_email" code. Can anyone tell me how to let people post without having to creat logins for them? Thanks in advance.

If you are using Squishdot with the TinyTables module (I recommend it!), you have to add Anonymous access to the TinyTable object.

Go to the Root folder in the ZMI, click on the TAB Security, and look for Query TinyTable Data

Click to add access to this object.action for Anonymous User

This is much better documented in the docs that Chris Withers referenced in his answer.

If you want a site that anyone can access without needing to log in, in the /manage view of your site open the Squishdot folder and click on "Security". Here you could try unchecking everything (apart from any Manager settings - leave them all checked for ease of maintenance) and then checking the following boxes in the "Anonymous" column:

    Access contents information
    Add postings
    Add portal content
    List folder contents
    Query vocabulary
    Reply to item
    Search ZCatalog
    Use Database methods
    View

All of these should give anyone the basic access they need.
