Removing Underlining in Responses Text
Newbies Posted by Deb on Tuesday October 15, 07:16PM, 2002
from the Newbie Dept. dept.
In the plain vanilla installation of a squishdot site, the replies are formatted to be underlined. How does somebody eliminate that formatting???

I've been racking my brain and think that I have been looking at the code too long now so I'm probably overlooking something.

All of the replies to posted articles on my squishdot sites (plain vanilla versions) are UNDERLINED. This is ugly. How do I remove the underlining? I've been searching through the code in the POSTING_HTML file but can't find where it is formatting the replies this way.

Help!

    Have you modified posting_html at all? A new plain squishdot site doesn't behave like this for me.

    Hmmm, perhaps you mean the chevrons (>) down the left hand side of the response?

    cheers,

    Chris

      Yes, I have modified posting_html to an extent. The problem is that it displays the main article just fine but any subsequent replies are all underlined. Here's my posting_html code:

      <dtml-var standard_html_header>

      Any ideas where the underlining is coming from? I've looked at the code until I turned blue in the face and still can't find it.

      Thanks!

        Sorry, had a quick look and couldnt' find anything :-(

        I suspect you're looking for an unclosed <a> and <u> or something...

        cheers,

        Chris

        Based on Chris's comment I looked at the code and found two of the above lines that don't have corresponding </A>'s. Could these possibly be causing the problem?
